Then we back up your purchase with either a 1-year or Lifetime Warranty, depending on the type of equipment you buy.

Then you save over the life of Peak Select qualified Cisco products because you never have to pay for a repair. The Peak Select Lifetime Warranty covers the cost of repairs and two-way ground shipping, as well as advance replacement units to get your network up and running as quickly as possible. It is one of the best warranties in the business for both new and pre-owned equipment.

Summit Information Resources, Inc. Lifetime Warranty Terms and Conditions

For products purchased after 1/1/16

The Peak Select Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship encountered during normal and reasonable use of the product. The Peak Select Lifetime Warranty is provided to original buyers of Peak Select qualified pre-owned and new Cisco products and is subject to the exclusions, conditions, terms, and disclaimers listed below.

How to get warranty service on

Peak Select qualified pre-owned and new Cisco products

1) If at any time during the warranty period your Peak Select qualified pre-owned or new Cisco product fails or malfunctions, simply contact your Summit Information Resources, Inc., account manager (1-800-788-4665) to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) or email your request to RMA@summitir.com.

2) Once you obtain the RMA, wrap the product and any additional requested components in cushioning materials and package in a box suitable for shipping via UPS or FedEx (see this video for packaging instructions). Label the carton exterior with our address: Summit Information Resources, Inc., 2935 Waters Rd Suite 200, Eagan, MN 55121, along with the RMA number provided. Using the information supplied with the RMA, contact the pre-approved freight carrier to arrange for free pick up and ground shipping. If you choose an alternate carrier or expedited shipping, Summit Information Resources, Inc. will not reimburse you for the shipping charges.

3) Return the defective product in the box and packing materials from the advance replacement unit. Ship it to Summit Information Resources, Inc. within 30-days from the issue date of the RMA. Unless agreed to by prior arrangements with Summit Information Resources, Inc., products shipped or received after the 30-day limit will not be repaired, replaced, or credited and the advance replacement unit will be billed to the customer.

EXCLUSIONS

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Configuration of the product
  • Damage or inoperability due to improper installation.
  • Failures caused by improper handling, mistreatment, fluid spills, accident, flood, act of God, lightning, power surges, incorrect electrical voltage (over or under-voltage), or any other means of electrical stress
  • Product that has been modified by anyone other than the manufacturer or Summit Information Resources, Inc.
  • Product that has been used for any purpose not intended or authorized by the original equipment manufacturer
  • Software products, Batteries, Headsets, Licenses, Phones, Disk Drives, and any other Service or Warranty Agreements, or items that were sold to the end user customer on behalf of Summit by a third party.

Conditions:

You agree to operate and maintain the equipment according to the specifications and recommendations provided by the equipment manufacturer, including but not limited to: proper voltage conditioning to prevent damage from surges and brownouts, adequate ventilation and cleaning to prevent component overheating, and operation and storage within specified temperature parameters.

Term definitions:

Original buyer: The company, individual, organization, or government entity listed as the buyer on the Summit Information Resources, Inc. invoice.

Transferability:

The Lifetime Warranty applies to the original buyer and is not transferrable.

DISCLAIMERS.

IN NO EVENT SHALL SUMMIT INFORMATION RESOURCES, INC.’S LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY EXCEED THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. THE WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMERS ABOVE CONSTITUTE SUMMIT INFORMATION RESOURCES, INC.’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY HEREUNDER AND IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS. THIS WARRANTY IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS AND IMPLIED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

IN NO EVENT WILL SUMMIT INFORMATION RESOURCES, INC., OR ITS EMPLOYEES BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOST REVENUE, LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION OR FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, HOWEVER CAUSED AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY, ARSING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT.

FOR PURPOSES OF THIS LIFETIME WARRANTY, AND AS A RESULT OF THE NATURE OF THE PRODUCTS COVERED BY THIS WARRANTY, “LIFETIME” IS DEFINED FROM THE DATE THE PRODUCT IS SHIPPED BY SUMMIT INFORMATION RESOURCES, INC. TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER FOR AS LONG AS THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER CONTINUES TO UTILIZE THE HARDWARE. TOTAL AMOUNT OF LIABILITY FOR SUMMIT INFORMATION RESOURCES, INC. WILL NOT EXCEED THE PRICE OF THE PRODUCT.

The provisions in this warranty are not intended to limit, modify, reduce, disclaim or exclude any mandatory requirements provided by states. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.

For products not covered by a Peak Select Lifetime Warranty

Summit Information Resources, Inc. provides a one year Limited Warranty unless noted otherwise in quotes, sales orders, or purchase agreements, or superseded by an in-force original manufacturer’s warranty. The one year Limited Warranty begins on the date of shipment to the original buyer and is subject to the exclusions, conditions, terms, and disclaimers listed below.

How to get warranty service

Return Policy on Non-Defective Products

You can return most recently purchased fully operational products to Summit Information Resources, Inc. for a refund if you change your mind, subject to the terms and conditions shown below. However, if the product contained a manufacturer’s seal and the seal has been broken, the product cannot be returned.

Return period:

Summit Information Resources, Inc. will accept returns of recently purchased equipment for a period of 30 days from the date of the original invoice.

Product condition:

All products must be returned in the same condition as received. The return must include all original packaging, manuals, and accessories as received from Summit Information Resources, Inc.

Shipping costs:

Except in the case of an error made by Summit Information Resources, Inc., the customer shall pay for full cost of the original and return shipping charges.

Restocking fee:

Upon inspection and determination that the returned product is in good condition and accompanied by all requested materials, Summit Information Resources, Inc. will issue a refund for the product purchase price minus a 25% restocking fee.

To return a recently purchased product, follow these steps

1) Obtain a return merchandise authorization (RMA) number by contacting your Summit Information Resources, Inc., account manager (1-800-788-4665) or emailing your request to RMA@summitir.com. Please provide the following information in your request:

  • Company Name
  • Contact Name & Phone Number
  • Part Number & Quantity
  • Serial Number(s)
  • Invoice Number & Purchase Order Number
  • Reason for Return

2) Once you obtain the RMA, wrap the product and any additional requested components in cushioning materials and package in a box suitable for shipping via UPS or FedEx (see this video for packaging instructions). Label the carton exterior with our address: Summit Information Resources, 2935 Waters Rd Suite 200, Eagan, MN 55121, along with the RMA number provided. Summit Information Resources Inc. will not accept any products for return that do not include an active RMA number.

3) Ship the product to Summit Information Resources Inc. within 30 days from the date of the RMA. Products received after 30 calendar days from the RMA create date will not be accepted by Summit Information Resources, Inc., and will not be eligible for credit. We recommend insuring the shipment for the full invoice cost and shipping via a reliable carrier with tracking information.
