Google is the #1 place to work according to Forbes, and is not surprisingly receiving upwards of 20,000 resumes per week. That’s 2 resumes per minute! With recruitment perks like iPhones and free food, these numbers aren’t very surprising.

Unless you are a hot tech company producing annual revenues in the billions, the chances are you don’t have massive warehouses of recruitment perks. So how can you create an atmosphere that draws in resumes (read: qualified prospects) increasingly so?

1. Hire wisely – Why would this attract cool people? Imagine you’re at a cocktail party, and you meet a businessman who is really positive and driven. After learning about his awesome methodology for 20 minutes, you learn he works at a start-up company. Doesn’t this start-up automatically sound cool? By choosing who you hire wisely, you create a positive buzz around your company.

2. Take care of your people – It’s an old Army saying, “take care of your people, and they will take care of you.” It’s been said for decades for a reason: it’s true. Recognize the value of each employee, the reality of their current struggles, and possibility of their dreams and goals. By doing so, you will develop a loyalty that prospective employees will instantly want to be a part of!

3. HAVE FUN – All fun, and no play makes Jack and Janie dull. Enjoy your team! Reward them with performance based treats, bonuses, parties. When you succeed, they should as well.

There is no secret hack to developing a resume-attracting company, but rather a recipe for creating genuine relationships and talk about your company. This is how our company, Summit Information Resources snagged a spot on the “The 100 Best Companies to Work For” two years in a row. We don’t plan to stop there!
