Summit’s 7th annual lawn bowling tournament was a day full of (friendly?) competition, laughter and tears. OK, maybe not tears. We’re not that dramatic. The tournament, held at the gorgeous rooftop of Brit’s Pub in downtown Minneapolis, featured a round robin with eight teams, all of which boasted iconic names like B-Money Train, Same Hair Don’t Care and Mmm…k. Before the big day, there was quite a bit of trash talking even before the teams were picked.

Year number 7 was certainly lucky: there were no injuries, and during the games the temperature remained pleasant in the mid-70s rather than the 100+ temps of last year. Thankfully, that meant there was no need for account executive Jim to steal all the shade again. Right after the game ended; however, the downpour started. We all bolted inside, proving that Summit hustles both on and off the field.

Team Valet Parking took the tournament, winning in the final round 12-9 against The Great Ones. The tournament winner and two-time MVP, Marc, shares his thoughts on the day. “It was a lot of fun to play with such a great group of people, both on my team and our competitors. Winning the MVP was cool and I’m looking forward to challengers next year.”

The losing team, B-Money Train, accepts their defeat a little less graciously. “I think there were some unfair advantages, for sure,” says Abby, Summit’s marketing assistant. “I mean, Brad, Marc, and Nick on the same team? Come on. Either way, we’re comin’ for you next year.”

Even after such an intense battle, Summit managed to set aside the burn from the loss and enjoy some cold drinks and perfectly-fried fish together.

Aren’t we cute?
